Crucial Tax Deadlines for November 2025: Stay Ahead

As the vibrant hues of fall fade and the festive season draws near, it's vital not to let tax deadlines slip through the cracks. Here’s how to make sure your tax obligations stay front and center this November.

November 10 - Reporting Tips to Employers

For those working in roles reliant on tips, it's important to note that if you received more than $20 in tips during October 2025, you must report them to your employer by November 10 using IRS Form 4070. It is crucial for your employer to withhold FICA taxes and income tax against these earnings. If your regular earnings aren’t sufficient to cover these withholdings, any shortfall will be noted in your W-2 form's box 8. Settle any outstanding amounts when filing your annual tax return.

Weekend and Holiday Extensions
Should any deadline appear on a weekend or legal holiday, rest easy as the due date extends automatically to the next official business day.

Extensions for Disaster Areas
In instances where a region is declared a disaster area, filing deadlines are extended to accommodate affected taxpayers. You can verify if your area has been designated as such and check for applicable extension dates by visiting: FEMA: fema.gov/disaster/declarations
IRS: irs.gov/newsroom/tax-relief-in-disaster-situations
